Reagan's Death
I've been watching the Charlie Rose show for the last hour, and I've listened to all the interviews with people that knew Reagan well. In my own opinion, some were right on about the man, others could not have been more wrong. Tom Clancy says that Reagan was the hero of the cold war. In truth the hero of the cold was every American president since FDR. It did in fact take 50 years to end the cold war, and no one President could possibly have achieved any part of the U.S. victory without the single mindedness of vision shared by all the Presidents that preceeded him. I'm currently reading "Charlie Wilson's War" and I am all fired up about the Cold War right now. Not much regarding food going on right now in my life, and really that's why I decided to start this blog, but nevertheless, I blog on. Hopefully soon I'll have something culinary to contribute.
As for Reagan, I believe that he was a good amn, if not a great President. He deserves credit for driving the final nails into the coffin on communism, but regrettably, his economic and social policies were clearly misguided.
My two cents are worth every penny.
